Painful Armenian demarcation
Baku/24.12.20/Turan: The ongoing demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border contributes to the growth of tension in the Armenian society. The reason for this is the occupation policy of this country, which for 25 years tried to legitimize the seizure of Azerbaijani lands.
After the conclusion of the truce on November 10, the Armenians had to return the lands of Zangelan, as a result, the Armenian city of Kafan appeared in front of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
A similar situation is now taking place on the border with Gubadli region, where the border passes through a number of villages and roads from the Armenian side. The reason is also: having seized the land, the Armenians began to develop it and build infrastructure.
Now it is time to pay off and return someone else's.
So, 21 km of highways turned out to be a de facto border, when on one side there are Azerbaijani and Armenian soldiers on the other. To avoid excesses, Russian border guards are also present.
As for the villages, in the village of Shurnukh, the Azerbaijani military demand a territory where the Armenians have built 12 houses. This is on the eastern side of the Goris-Kafan road. On the spot, the situation was discussed by the Azerbaijani military, Russian border guards and a representative of the Armenian Security Service, reported Armenian media. Another village with the same problem, but on a smaller scale, is Vorotan. Both villages are in the Syunik region of Armenia.
The Armenian opposition regards what is happening as another betrayal of the Pashinyan government, which intends to "surrender" a number of other territories to Azerbaijan. -02D-
