Pashinyan's statement on Karabakh does not contribute to settlement the conflict - Russian Foreign Ministry
Moscow/09.03.19/Turan: Statements of the parties in the Karabakh settlement should contribute to a peaceful solution to the problem.
"It is difficult to return to previous positions in the negotiation process after statements that become an apple of discord and can imbalance the fragile negotiation process." This was stated by representative for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova at a September 4 briefing, commenting on a statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on August 5 that Karabakh is Armenia.
She made it clear that such statements are periodically dictated by the "domestic political process." I would like all parties to proceed from the assumption that resources should be directed to a peaceful settlement. Therefore, statements should contribute to this goal, she said. -02D-
