Police foiled the event of the party Umid and Karabakh Liberation Organization
On Sunday police in Sumgait foiled a meeting of the party Umid. About 30 members of the local police and people in civilian clothes raided the rented party room and expelled them from there.
About 15 people were detained for some time.
The leader of Umid, MP Iqbal Aghazadeh described it as "arbitrary measure showing attitude of the authorities to the political parties."
The party Umid has a state registration and official financing from the state budget and there was no legal basis for police intervention in the event, Aghazadeh said.
The party intends to appeal the actions of the police in the court and demand from those who instructed to disrupt the event to pay material compensation.
Meanwhile, the Karabakh Liberation Organization reported police intervention in the event of this structure on April 21 in the villages of Sarijali and Guzanly of the Agdam region.
Recall that on Saturday, April 20 police foiled the Popular Front Party's meeting in Sabirabad and the event of the same party in the Nij village of the Gabala region. -06D -
