Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: dismissed policemen who beat journalists
Two employees of the Police Patrol Service of the Sabail district of Baku were punished for beating journalists during the action on June 3. The incident took place at the Nizami Street (Torgovaya) during a rally to support the protests in Turkey.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the two police officers were fired.
Recall that the physical pressure and rudeness was imposed on members of the Institute of Reporters Freedom and Safety Rasim Aliyev and Mehman Huseynov.
Note that this is the first such case in Azerbaijan. However, the official announcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has not yet reported the names of police officers and did not say for what exactly they were punished. -16D04-
