Prime Minister of Bulgaria to the Ambassador of Russia: "We will not allow to give us an ultimatum"
Baku/01.07.22/Turan: Sofia is not afraid of Moscow's threats and confirmed the decision to expel from the country 70 Russian diplomats engaged in intelligence and subversive activities.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to the country Eleonora Mitrofanova (sister of the notorious State Duma deputy and Zhirinovsky's closest associate Alexei Mitrofanov) said that the Bulgarian authorities ignored her appeal to cancel the expulsion of 70 diplomats. In this regard, she intends to raise a question with the Russian leadership about the closure of the embassy in Sofia.
The day before, Mitrofanova was received at the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, where she asked to reconsider the decision to expel the diplomats. Otherwise, we can talk about closing the embassy.
On the morning of July 1, Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov made a video message in which he stated that he would not allow foreign diplomats to issue ultimatums to the Bulgarian state.
Bulgaria strongly condemned the invasion in Ukraine and refused to pay for Russian gas in rubles. In response, pro-Russian forces in parliament tore apart the country's coalition government. --02D--
