Prosecutor General"s Office denies reports on the injuring Ali Nagiyev
The General Prosecutor Office refuted today’s report by the APA agency on the hospitalization of Ali Nagiyev, deputy head of the Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General, as the result of a road accident. "This information is not true," said the press service.
General Prosecutor Office sees this publication as a violation of the media law, a possible defamation to the business reputation of the official, and could mislead public opinion.
It was also noted that the information was published despite the head of the press service’s denial of the information.
Prosecutors said that during a small accident on September 11, Nagiyev was not in the car, and his driver was not injured.
The Prosecutor General proposed that the head of the media is responsible for the spread of false and defamatory messages. Prosecutor General’s Office intends to appeal to the Press Council on the issue. –06D-
