Rally Demanding Liberation of Karabakh in Lokbatan
Baku / 30.11.19 / Turan: On Saturday, a rally was held at the training and sports base of the Oil Club in Lokbatan demanding the release of Karabakh.
The rally organized by the People’s Movement of Azerbaijan (PMA) was held under the slogans "Liberation of Karabakh, End to Occupation!" and "Either Liberate or Leave!"
The rally was attended by about 100 people.
A member of the PMA Board, the head of the "Classic" Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Mirmahmud Miralioglu, condemned the authorities for providing a venue for a rally on such a national issue as the Karabakh conflict in the remote outskirts of Baku.
He also said that, under pressure from the authorities, the printing houses refused to print posters for this rally.
“We have come here to demand drastic steps from the authorities to liberate the occupied territories. We have a small enemy with big patrons. But we will definitely win,” Miralioglu said.
He criticized the OSCE Minsk Group for the lack of results of the negotiation process.
The rally participants condemned other parties for not supporting the rally.
The rally resolution put forward a demand for President Ilham Aliyev to launch an anti-terrorist operation to liberate Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding areas as soon as possible, since the tactics for resolving the problem did not work peacefully.
As reported by the Baku City Police Headquarters, about 450 people took part in the rally.
“During the rally, there were no cases of gross violation of public and legal order,” the capital police said in a press release. –21C-
