Reports of Armenians about the occupation of the "Garagaya" height - disinformation
Baku/16.07.20/Turan: Since July 13, various Armenian sources have reported that during the battles they occupied an important height (in the Armenian version of "Garadash") on the border of the Tavush and Tovuz regions. According to the Armenians, this allows them to control the depth of the territory of Azerbaijan by 15-20 kilometers. The Armenian side presented a couple of photographs that should confirm these statements.
However, after July 13, the enemy did not provide any convincing evidence, other than statements.
In turn, Azerbaijani military sources report that the shooting of a UAZ vehicle with Azerbaijani military servants happened precisely near the Garagaya hill. It is also reported that there was no warning fire from the Armenian side, and the shooting was deliberate, which became the reason for the aggravation of the situation.
Because of taken measures, during the next 24 hours the positions were returned, and the "achievement" of the Armenians was reduced to zero. The price for this was high, but Armenia’s attempt to capture the strategic height was thwarted.
Armenians, unable to maintain the height, compensate this with misinformation about dozens of shot down drones, a shot down tank, an unsuccessful assault by 100 special forces of the height and other "achievements".
Yerevan's attempt to involve the CSTO in the conflict also failed. According to the diplomatic source, the analysis of the situation confirmed that there was no sabotage or penetration of the Armenian side, but just the opposite. That is why the CSTO meeting did not take place at the request of Yerevan.
Armenians published in social networks, that the need to occupy heights on the border with the Tovuz and Gazakh regions of Azerbaijan was discussed by military experts, and was called a vital necessity to protect the population of border villages. This indirectly confirms that the Ministry of Defense of Armenia was preparing such an operation.
According to a number of Armenian media reports, at a meeting of the Armenian government on July 14, a "showdown" took place, at which Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed doubts about the need to shoot the UAZ with the Azerbaijani military.
Does this mean that Tonoyan acted contrary to the instructions of the head of government, or the attack was authorized by Pashinyan, time will tell. -02B-
