Representatives of the EU, NATO and the US on the escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border
Baku/13.09.22/Turan: The fighting and intense skirmishes on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border must be stopped immediately, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar wrote on his Twitter page. The EU is in close contact with the parties to reduce tensions, he said.
NATO Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia and Javier Colomina also tweeted: “I am very concerned about attacks along the Armenia and Azerbaijan border, including reported strikes against settlements and civilian infrastructure inside Armenia.NATO calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urgent de-escalation.”
U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter writes that “Hostilities along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and reported strikes on civilian objects in Armenia are unacceptable and must stop immediately. There is no military solution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh; diplomacy must prevail.” --16D--
