Russia lost control over Zmeiny Island
Baku/30.06.22/Turan: At night, Ukrainian troops attacked Zmeiny island, after which the Russian invaders probably left the island, the message on the page of the Operational Ukrainian command "Pivden" in Facebook.
"During the night, as a result of the successfully carried out next stage of the military operation with firing by our missile and artillery units on Zmeiny Island, the enemy hastily evacuated the remnants of the garrison by two speed boats and probably left the island," the message says.
The Russian side confirmed the withdrawal from Zmeiny. Russian troops completed the tasks of a special operation on Zmeiny Island, in connection with this, as a “goodwill step”, a decision was made to withdraw the garrison of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from the island, journalists were told by the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov.
According to him, it was demonstrated to the world community that Russia does not interfere with the actions of the UN to organize a humanitarian corridor for the export of agricultural products from Ukraine.
The loss of Zmeiny Island will seriously limit the capabilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and virtually eliminate the threat of an invasion of the Ukrainian coast from the sea. --06B--
