"Sea Cup" for the fourth year in a row in Azerbaijan
Baku / 26.08.20 / Turan: The Ministers of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan, Army General Sergei Shoigu and Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, on August 25 launched the "Sea Cup" competition of the International Army Games 2020, which is held at the Puta naval base of the Azerbaijani Navy, reported RF Ministry of Defense.
“This competition is being held in Azerbaijan for the fourth year. I express my sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov for the hospitality and high level of holding events, ”the head of the Russian military department said at the opening ceremony.
Sergei Shoigu expressed confidence that the competition will serve to strengthen international cooperation, mutual trust and partnership between countries.
“I am sure that the Sea Cup competition held this year will awaken a sense of solidarity among the servicemen,” Zakir Hasanov said.
He noted that the competition will allow guests to get to know Azerbaijan, the culture and history of the republic better and will leave pleasant memories.
The Sea Cup 2020 competition will end on 4 September. During the period of the competition, the sailors will have to show their skills in performing artillery firing at the destruction of sea and air targets, anchoring and mooring barrel, rescue training, as well as in the fight for the survivability of the ship.
This year, two teams will take part in the competition: the Russian Federation will be represented by the small artillery ship Makhachkala of the Caspian Flotilla, the team of the Republic of Azerbaijan will perform on the patrol ship G-122 .— 0—
