Search for 24 missing Azerbaijani servicemen is ongoing
Baku/21.04.21/Turan: The search for 24 missing Azerbaijani servicemen in the 44-day Karabakh war is ongoing in the Terter, Fizuli, Jebrail, Khojavend and Khojaly regions, as well as in the city of Shusha, the report of the Military Prosecutor's Office, published on April 20. The search on the Murov ridge has been postponed until natural conditions allow it.
Investigative and operational measures continue to develop versions of the finding Azerbaijani servicemen in Armenian captivity or the presence of their remains on the opposite side.
The message recalls that after the signing of the trilateral statement of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and the Russian Federation on November 10, 2020, 386 Azerbaijani soldiers were recognized as missing.
During the search work, including by interviewing witnesses and rechecking the testimony of the military, seizing mobile phone data and other necessary investigative actions, the locations and burial places of the bodies of 362 missing servicemen were identified. The found remains of the dead were examined and, after identification, were handed over to relatives, the press release concluded.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Defense, 2,881 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed in the second Karabakh war. — 06D-
