The Ministry of Finance responded to the residents of "Sovietskaya"
Baku/20.04.21/Turan: The Ministry of Finance issued a statement calling on the former residents of the territory called "Sovietskaya" "to refrain from destructive activities accompanied by a violation of public order" and demanding additional compensation be paid to them.
People evicted from "Sovetskaya" voluntarily, but now they claim that the compensations given to them on the basis of agreements were incorrectly calculated and underestimated, stated the message of the Ministry of Finance .
In addition to compensation for living space, each family was paid another 1,000 manats for resettlement. In addition, additional compensation was awarded to tenants who provided documents on land ownership rights. The Ministry of Finance recommends that citizens go to the courts on controversial issues.
A group of former residents of the massif known as Sovetskaya, whose houses were demolished on April 19, once again gathered to protest in front of the Cabinet of Ministers, expressing dissatisfaction with the small compensation, and some claim that they did not receive anything at all.
Demolition of Sovetskaya began in 2014 on an area of 26 hectares, where about 4500 residential and non-residential buildings were demolished. At the second stage, another 920 buildings were demolished on an area of 13 hectares.
At both stages, there were owners who did not agree with the proposed compensation in the amount of 1,500 manats per square meter of housing and periodically hold protests. Some even went to the European Court of Human Rights. Demolition continues in this area. — 21D/0306-
