Security Council of CIS Countries Discussing Terrorists

Moscow / 21.11.18 / Turan: CIS countries exchange analytical information about the situation around the international terrorist organizations Islamic State, Al-Qaeda and similar structures in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Middle East.

This was stated by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolay Patrushev, commenting on the meeting of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CIS countries that opened in Moscow on Wednesday.

The meeting participants discuss areas of joint work to curb the financing of terrorist activities, and the legalization of criminal proceeds. The agenda of the meeting also includes other pressing issues of regional security in the CIS space, the official statement says.

"Nikolai Patrushev stressed that since the first such meeting in 2017, the CIS states have organized an exchange of analytical information about Islamic terrorists.

The head of the Security Council of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev and the head of the Law Enforcement Agencies Department of the Presidential Administration Fuad Aleskerov represent Azerbaijan at the meeting. -02D-
