Sergey Lavrov: Russia to Facilitate Exchange of Prisoners of War
Moscow / 07.12.20 / Turan: The South Caucasus is turning from a region of contradictions into a region of stability, and Russia will help this in every possible way, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a meeting with the new Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan.
"The joint statement, which was signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Presidents of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation on November 9, which stopped the war and ensured agreements that allow refugees and internally displaced persons to return to their homes, provided agreements to restore the economy and solve humanitarian problems," said Lavrov.
“Russia will facilitate the exchange of prisoners of war between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he added and urged to appreciate the agreement reached to end the war.
In turn, Ara Ayvazyan expressed gratitude to Russia for the great contribution and efforts aimed at a ceasefire in Karabakh.
"I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Russian side and personally to you, Sergei Viktorovich, for your great contribution and consistent efforts aimed at a complete ceasefire and end of military operations in the conflict zone," he said. -02D-
