Sheikhulislam condemned Garegin II for revenge-seeking statements
Baku/09.06.21/Turan: Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade condemned the visit of the head of the Armenian Church Garegin II to Khankendi and the statements made there.
The Armenian Apostolic Church did not support the efforts of religious leaders for a peaceful and just settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the press-release of the CMO.
The church did not propagate the ideas of peace and cooperation; on the contrary, justified the criminal acts of Armenian political leaders who ignore the decisions of the UN and other international organizations.
“Unfortunately, such activities continue, and recently the Armenian Catholicos Garegin II visited Khankendi, where he made revanchist statements,” Pashazade said.
He called on the world community and religious leaders to express their attitude to the actions of the Armenian Apostolic Church, "contrary to the postulates of the Most High", to support efforts to establish peace in the region. — 06D-
