Southern Gas Corridor will provide long-term development to Azerbaijan
Baku / 21.12.17 / Turan: The implemented project of "Southern Gas Corridor" (SGC) worth 40 billion dollars will ensure long-term successful, sustainable development of Azerbaijan, stated today the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the conference: "2017 - the Year of Islamic Solidarity: Dialogue between Religions and Culture." He also pointed to the launch of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and work currently on the North-South transport corridor.
"Our successful development shows that when interreligious, interethnic relations are at the right level, stability is ensured and all citizens of the country are optimistic about the future," Aliyev said. According to him, Azerbaijan has no problems on national and religious grounds.
Touching upon the Karabakh conflict, Aliyev said that the territorial integrity of the country will be restored. "For this, there are all possibilities, and the events of the past year (the April war - the ed.) once again confirmed this.
Aliyev also pointed out that Azerbaijan is open to cooperation with international organizations. Baku closely cooperates with both the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the European Union and has agreements on strategic partnership with 9 EU countries. -05D-
