Baku / 21.12.17Turan: There is no need to hold a congress of the Muslims of the Caucasus, sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, the head of this department, told journalists within the framework of the international conference "2017 - the Year of Islamic Solidarity: Dialogue between Religions and Cultures". Answering journalists' question, he said that a few years ago the was held the Congress of the Muslims of the Caucasus, which elected him as the life chairman.
"While I'm alive, I'll remain a chairman," Pashazadeh categorically said.
In 2003 the eleventh Congress of the Muslims of the Caucasus was held, at which Pashazade was elected as a life-long chairman. Believers from Nakhchivan made such an offer.
