Госсекретарь МИД Франции Жан Батист Лемуан
Speech by Jean Baptiste Lemoine, Secretary of State of French Foreign Ministry, in Senate on November 25
Baku / 26.11.20 / Turan: During the discussions on November 25 by the French Senate of the resolution on the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Secretary of State of the French Foreign Ministry Jean Baptiste Lemoine opposed this document. His speech was published on the website of the French Embassy in Baku.
"Let's be clear, France's unilateral recognition of the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh will not benefit anyone today: neither Armenia, nor those living in Nagorno-Karabakh, nor France, nor other members of the Minsk Group.
This does not correspond to the policy of the government, the policy of Armenia, the policy of our partnership.
The solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem may come not from a one-sided gesture, not from the French, but from a dialogue between the parties.
Today the parties need to continue this dialogue more than before. There is no interest in starting with unilateral recognition,” said the State Minister.
Note that the Senate ignored Lemoine's opinion and adopted the resolution with 305 votes in favor, with one vote against. -02D-
