State Department Urged to Refrain from Using Force in Karabakh
U.S. intends to continue to seek settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully and urged its parties to refrain from the use of force, said a spokesman for the U.S. State Department.
Commenting to an Azerbaijani television journalist at the Sunday talks of the U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, and the Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, who addressed the question of "occupied territories of Azerbaijan," State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell said that Washington would continue to work with the parties in the conflict with a view to a peaceful settlement.
"We believe that this conflict cannot be resolved by force, and call on all parties to refrain from using force or threat of force," said Ventrell. He reiterated that the United States is co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group set up to find a political solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. -02D-
