State Service reaffirmed "change in prices" for bread and flour
Baku/05.01.21/Turan: The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Supervision of Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy strengthened control over the prices for flour and bread. The Ministry warned importers and manufacturers against abuse of the situation.
According to the SS, this year the flour prices have risen due to rising prices in the global market. As a part of preventive measures, meetings were organized with importers of grain, as well as producers of flour and bread which were warned of "the inadmissibility of abusing the situation.
In order to prevent unreasonable changes in prices for flour and bread, as well as the weight of traditional (round) bread, a regular monitoring is carried out and necessary measures are taken to comply with the antimonopoly legislation. In case of detecting violations, severe measures will be taken, the press release stressed.
Thus, the SS is stepping up its efforts so that entrepreneurs do not raise prices further. -06D-

On January 15, the Tbilisi Court of Appeals rejected the appeal of Afghan Sadigov, the founder of the Azel TV website, who had protested his extradition to Azerbaijan. Sadigov’s wife, Sevinj Sadigova, stated that this was the final judicial instance in Georgia making a decision on the case, Turan reported. On the other hand, lawyer Mariam Kvelashvili informed Turan that the defense would continue legal steps to prevent the extradition of Afghan Sadigov. On January 15, the Yasamal District Court rejected the motion to change the detention measure for Azer Gasymly, the director of the Institute of Political Management, his lawyer, Agyl Laidj, to Turan. "Azer Gasymly stated during the trial that the charges against him were fabricated and related to his socio-political activities," the lawyer said. An appeal will be filed against the court's decision.
