Stefan Fule: there are people arrested for their beliefs in Azerbaijan
In Azerbaijan, there are people arrested for their beliefs and this concerns not only the Council of Europe, but also the European Union. At a press conference in Strasbourg on Thursday this was said by the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule, when asked whether he believed in the existence of political prisoners in Azerbaijan.
According to Fule, EU cooperation with Azerbaijan depends on how Azerbaijan will fulfill its obligations, and in particular in the area of freedom of expression and attitude to opposition. -04s-
