Tehran warns Azerbaijan against cooperation with Israel against Iran
Baku/31.03.23/Turan: The spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry called on Azeri authorities to give an explanation over recent anti-Iran remarks and alleged formation of a united front with Israeli regime against Tehran.
According to the Iranian Mehr news agency, in Friday's statement, Nasser Kanani reacted to the statements of the Israeli Foreign Minister regarding reaching an agreement with the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister on "forming a united front against Iran."
Kan'ani described such a move as another evidence that bear witness to the sinister intentions of the Zionist regime to turn Azerbaijan's soil into a threat to the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran and strongly condemned it.
The Iranian spokesman also said that the government of Azerbaijan is also expected to avoid falling into a trap laid by enemies of the two nations of Iran and Azerbaijan.
Emphasizing the solid historical and religious bonds between the people of Iran and Azerbaijan, he added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always tried to thwart the efforts of ill-wishers who seek to create distance between the two neighboring countries.
The Islamic Republic of Iran cannot remain indifferent to the conspiracy (threat) of the Zionist regime against the country from the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he also noted.
As Turan reported,As Turan reported, during a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov on March 29 in Tel Aviv, the Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said the following: "IIran threatens our region and creates instability in the Middle East by supporting and financing terrorism. We must act together against Iran. We must not allow Iran to expand its nuclear capabilities."
The Azerbaijani and Israeli sides have not yet commented on today's statement by Nasser Kanani.--0--
