Baku/31.03.23/Turan: Dilara Askerova, the mother of Azerbaijani citizen Farid Safarli, who went missing in Iran, continues to search for her son. Today she was received by the Deputy Ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan, who assured her that the Iranian side would respond to the note of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry in connection with Safarli by Tuesday next week at the latest. According to Askerova, the Iranian diplomat explained the delay in providing a response to the Foreign Ministry's note sent on March 9 as a "procedural issue."

"But he provided no information about Farid. I asked – is my son in Iran? He didn't say anything. I just noted that they will provide an official response on Tuesday at the latest, saying what information they have," Askerova told the Turan news agency.  She visited Iran last week, but could not find the girl, because of which her son went to this country, Dilara Askerova said.

Despite appeals to the police and the Iranian court, she could not get any information about her son there. Farid Safarli arrived in Tehran from Germany on February 20, where he is studying. After March 4, communication with him was lost. ---06B---
