The authorities recognized the blocking of the Internet resources of “Abzas Media”
The court's decision in Azerbaijan restricts access to the website of the independent online publication “Abzas Media” and its pages on all social networks, this is stated the response of Samir Rasulov, head of the Electronic Security Service at the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, to a request from lawyers of the persons arrested in the “Abzas Media” case.
By the decision of the Yasamal District Court of November 29, 2023, access to all information resources of the “Abzas Media” portal (sites Abzas.net , abzas.org and social media accounts) are limited, Rasulov said. The lawyers consider the decision to block information resources to be unlawful and intend to appeal against this decision.
However, users currently have access to the domain abzas.info , as well as the publication's Facebook accounts, https://www.youtube.com /, https://www.instagram.com/abzasmedia .
Therefore, it is not clear what restrictions the representative of the ministry is talking about.
* The authorities' attack on “Abzas Media” began on November 20, 2023, when six of its employees were arrested and the publication's activities were blocked. Nevertheless, the remaining colleagues at large continue to work with the publication from outside Azerbaijan and on social networks.
