Baku/13.12.20/Turan: The Armenian side committed provocative actions in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, accompanied by a violation of the ceasefire, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reports. Adequate retaliatory measures were taken by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan. The ceasefire is currently being observed, reported the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry on December 12. According to official sources, one Azerbaijani serviceman was wounded.

The Karabakh politician Hayk Khanumyan reported  that the Azerbaijani army  captured the villages of Kehnia Taglar (Khin Taher) and Chalaggala (Khtsabert) in the Hadrut region. The  Azerbaijani side used artillery in the operation, the Armenians had six wounded. On December 12, Armenians gathered at the Russian base in Karabakh “to understand their position ... The deputy of the Russian command spoke to us (General Muradov is not in Karabakh). The deputy commander assured that he had agreed with the parties to stabilize the situation ... This territory was defended this way by the Defense Army, and there were no positions of Russian peacekeepers. Negotiations are underway at all levels to restore previous positions. We will meet again tomorrow at 11:00 to find out the news,” wrote Khanumyan (Yerkramas).

The Armenian military left Kehnia Taglar, the head of the Armenian “administration” of the village of Chalaggal, Alexander Avanesyan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"The village of Kehnya Taglar (this is the Azerbaijani name, which means" Old Mountains "-Turan) is taken by the Azerbaijanis, and the village of Chalaggala (this is the Azerbaijani name, which means" Fortress in a ravine "- Turan) is surrounded on all sides," he said, adding that "the Russian peacekeeping contingent is at their posts and does not interfere in the situation."

On December 12, N. Pashinyan convened an urgent meeting in Yerevan to discuss the situation in Hadrut. The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed the incident in Karabakh, calling it the first armed incident since the ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

On December 12, President I. Aliyev informed the co-chairs of the Minsk Group about the existence of Armenian armed groups in the Hadrut region, which did not obey the terms of the Declaration of Peace. He warned the Armenians that if they do not stop provocations, then the Armenian army would be defeated.

The events of December 12 indicate the conduct of a military operation by the Azerbaijani army against militants committing provocations and refusing to leave the territory, which came under the control of the Azerbaijani army in accordance with the tripartite ceasefire agreement on November 10 this year.

On December 1, it was reported that Armenian militants remained in the villages of the Hadrut region that had come under Azerbaijani control and refused to fulfill this agreement.

According to the data received by Turan, Armenian militants acted in the villages of Chalakkala (Khtsaberd) and Old Taglar (Khin Taher). Moreover, the Mount Dizapayt and the Kataro monastery also remained under their control. It was reported, citing an Armenian social network source, that the armed Armenians were surrounded by Azerbaijani troops from three sides. The commanders of these groups are Hayk Khanumyan, Gary Abrahamyan, Angel Galstyan. --0--
