The British Ambassador participated in the garbage collection campaign in Surakhani
Baku/12.05.21/Turan: The environmental campaign "My Beautiful Village" was held today with the participation of the British Ambassador to Azerbaijan James Sharp.
According to the public organization "Yuva", this initiative is part of the project" Speak girls", implemented by a group of young people of the Surakhani district with the support of the British Embassy and the humanitarian center"Yuva".
The aim of the project is to empower young women and girls, and to change the public perception of women's rights in society.
Representatives of the executive power of the Surakhani district, British Ambassador James Sharp and embassy staff came to support the participants of the action, taking an active part in the clearing of the territory.
"The empowerment of girls and women, the realization of their potential is an urgent problem for our society. We must create favorable conditions for their social and professional development and direct them to solve social problems of public importance, " said Parvana Mammadova, Chairman of the Yuva Humanitarian Center.
During the campaign, more than 20 bags of garbage were collected from one hectare of the territory.
The Yuva Humanitarian Center is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1997. The purpose of the organization is to promote the self-realization of women, children and youth in building civil society in Azerbaijan. -0-
