
As part of the public campaign “five kopecks” in favor of youth activists fined for taking part in a protest on January 12, by noon on Friday 18 January the donation totaled 6,135 manat, according to the organizers of the action from the youth public structure “Positive changes.”
The campaign was launched on January 15, and its essence is to demonstrate civil solidarity with young people, fined for protesting against the unnecessary deaths of soldiers in the army.
It was decided to raise money in small coins, and to pay large fines. Despite the great majority of the donations were received from young people, the older people also took part in the action.
The campaign was supported by university staff, activists, journalists, lawyers, trade centers.
Fundraising continues also abroad – in Germany, Turkey, Russia, Canada and other countries.
