The case of the “Revenge 313” group has been transferred to the court
Baku/01.12.23/Turan: The preliminary investigation into the case of a group of 13 people accused of attempting to forcibly change the constitutional order of Azerbaijan has ended. The case has been transferred to the Baku Serious Crimes Court, and a preparatory hearing is scheduled for December 13.
According to investigators, Rufullah Akhundzade and his son Almursal Akhundzade, who are in Iran, planned to forcibly change the constitutional order of Azerbaijan and create a state governed by Sharia law "Kerime". To do this, they intended to organize attempts on well-known state and public figures of Azerbaijan.
In May, the investigation arrested members of the “Revenge 313” group – Yusif Mirzoyev, Elvin Jafarov, Elgyun Agayev, Maharrameli Musayev, Huseyn Huseynzade, Savalan Huseynli, Etibar Mammadzade, Mir Vasid Aliyev, Ilham Shikhaliyev, Faig Zeynalov, Ilkin Bagirov, Vugar Madatov and Ruslan Aliyev.
According to the joint statement of the Azerbaijani security forces, these individuals received funding from Iran and used it to promote religious radicalism in Azerbaijan. The case will be considered by a panel of judges chaired by Novruz Kerimov. –06B-
