Baku/19.09.23/Turan: The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry called on the Armenian civilian population of the region to stay away from military facilities. "Taking into account the deployment of firepower by the formations of the Armenian armed forces near residential areas, we urge the civilian population on the ground to stay away from military facilities and not support the formations of the Armenian armed forces. The relevant information was sent to the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan via a mobile SMS service. At the same time, the population is being warned with the help of loudspeakers and information leaflets are being distributed," the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The protection of administrative, social, educational, medical, religious and other facilities will be organized, the safety of which is guaranteed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the norms of international humanitarian law, the press release further says.
"Women, children, the elderly, as well as people with disabilities and the sick will be provided with the necessary medical care, they will be provided with drinking water and food. In order to ensure the evacuation of the population from the danger zone, humanitarian corridors and reception points have been created on the Lachin road and in other directions," the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in conclusion.
In another message, the Ministry of Defense refuted the reports of the Armenian media and social media users about the alleged strikes on civilian objects. The Azerbaijani army strikes exclusively at legitimate military targets, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said. ----06B----
