The Executive Director of the UN Coalition against Corruption (UNCAC) called for the release of Gubad Ibadoglu
Baku/18.12.23/Turan: The UN Anti-Corruption Conference was held in Atlanta (USA) on December 11-15. Mathias Huter, Executive Director of the UN Coalition against Corruption (UNCAC), in his speech called on the Azerbaijani authorities to release economist Gubad Ibadoglu, Ghalib Bayramov, brother of Gubad Ibadoglu wrote on his Facebook page.
"Professor Gubad Ibadoglu and his wife were tortured and arrested. Gubad Ibadoglu is a well-known person in the fight against corruption. The professor's life is in danger because he does not receive the necessary medical care. I call for the immediate release of Gubad Ibadoglu," Huter said.
A number of international organizations, including the US State Department, as well as senators and congressmen, have called for Ibadoglu's release. Human rights organizations recognized him as a political prisoner. -16D-
