The head of the secretariat of the State Commission of Azerbaijan on the delimitation of the border with Armenia has been appointed
Baku/12.04.23/Turan: Murad Najafbeyli has been appointed Head of the Secretariat of the State Commission for the Delimitation of the State Border between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov on April 12, the Cabinet of Ministers told Turan.
Najafbeyli is a professional diplomat, was the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Estonia and Switzerland.
In May 2022, President Ilham Aliyev appointed Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev as chairman of the State Commission for the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia. A similar commission was created by Armenia.
Since then, meetings of the state commissions of Azerbaijan and Armenia have been held three times - on May 24 at the border between the two countries, on August 30 in Moscow, on November 3 in Brussels.
However, the parties have not started substantive negotiations on the delimitation of the border. ---06B---
