The incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border proved the ineffectiveness of the EU Mission – Russian Foreign Ministry
Baku/05.09.23/Turan: The incident on September 1 with the death of Armenian soldiers on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border once again proves the ineffectiveness of the EU mission in Armenia, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said at a briefing in Moscow on Tuesday.
"We express our condolences in connection with the death of Armenian servicemen in the village of Sotk and call on the parties to refrain from actions that lead to escalation, tension and even more human casualties. This tragic incident once again confirmed the low efficiency of the European Union mission stationed in Armenia," she said.
According to Zakharova, the Russian Federation considers carrying out regular work on the delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with Russian assistance, simultaneously with confidence-building measures.
"We also advocate the deployment of the CSTO mission in the border area. Here the ball is on the side of Yerevan. All other member states of the organization have expressed their readiness for this," the diplomat concluded. ---0---
