The International Press Center (BMW) refused to hold a conference on the state of civil society
The International Press Center (BMM) just like the business center The Landmark Hotel Baku, did not give a consent for a four-hour forum: "The current state of civil society: What to do for a change?", organized by the Committee to Protect Civil Society.
After learning about the purpose of the event and the organizers, the BMM initially told that there was no places, and then asked for time to think. But there was no answer. The staff of the BMM did not answer teleepone calls.
In the last two years the Azerbaijani authorities instructed all hotels and business centers do not provide space for the activities of independent NGOs and the media, introducing by this a censorship to freedom of assembly, even in commercial offices.-0--
