Civil society: cooperation with Euronest is important for Azerbaijan
The civil society representatives met on April 9 with the co-chair of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, MEP Heidi Hautala of Finland.
The meeting was attended by the National Coordinator of the Forum of the European Eastern Partnership Azerbaijan Avaz Hasanov, the head of the Community Initiatives Center Gubad Ibadoglu, director of the German Marshall Fund on Azerbaijan Mehriban Rahimli, director of the Center for Economic and Social Development Vugar Bayramov, chairman of the Public Association for the Protection of the rights of migrant Mirvari Gahramanli.
Civil society representatives noted the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Euronest for efforts towards European integration, support for the World Trade Organization, the harmonization of national legislation with the European legislation, the protection of human rights and finding a solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
They also noted problems of foreign donor registration in Azerbaijan and receipt of foreign grants.
Heidi Hautala stressed the importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan, the fruits of which can benefit all citizens of the country.
