The Kremlin can solve the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the "Soviet Union" - an expert
Baku / 03.09.18 / Turan: Azerbaijan in relations with Russia should be cautious considering the US sanctions against the Russian state and companies, said the political commentator Rauf Mirkadyrov in an interview with the Azerbaijani service of "Voice of America", commenting on the results of the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Russia on September 1. The very fact of the meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia is a positive fact, for the failure to negotiate with the Kremlin leads to what happened to Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
As for the economic agreements signed in Sochi, we should not forget that much depends today on Washington's sanctions, which can block many deals. US sanctions do not have geographical limitations, they are global in nature. Therefore, all states, companies, including Russian ones, are forced to take this into account.
"The United States can apply sanctions against countries that carry out military cooperation with Russia," Mirkadyrov said. According to him, the economic bloc should also be cautious not to take with Russia such obligations, which then it will be impossible to fulfill.
As for the Karabakh issue, in only one case Russia can help in resolving the conflict. "In the event that the conflict is resolved within the framework of Russia's interests. Today, Russia's foreign policy is that it wants to completely take the post-Soviet space under its zone of influence. Therefore, Russia can help resolve the conflict in the form that will lead to the refusal of Azerbaijan and Armenia from their independence," Mirkadyrov said.
If Putin devoted a very small part of the time to the Karabakh issue, this means that such an agreement has not yet been reached, he added. -16D-
