The meeting of religious leaders of Iran and Turkey
During his visit to Iran's Religious leader of Turkey Mehmet Gormez was received today in Iran by the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei. According to Turkish media, the meeting was held behind closed doors with the participation of religious leaders of some other countries, participants of the international conference in Tehran; such a meeting of religious leaders of the two countries was not held for many years.
According to political observers, the topic of the meeting were the issues of Syria, and the interests of Iran and Turkey in the region.
Currently, the two countries are on opposite sides of the barricades: Islamic Iran has teamed up with Christian Russia and acts against Turkey. While Turkey in alliance with NATO confronts Russian policy, seeking any means to support the stay of the Syrian dictator Bashar Asad in power.-05D-
