The Milli Majlis condemned the resolution of the French Senate
Baku/16.11.22/Turan: At a meeting on November 16, the Milli Majlis (MM) adopted a statement in connection with the resolution of the French Senate directed against the sovereignty of Azerbaijan. Opening the discussions, the MM speaker Sahiba Gafarova stressed that every line of the Senate resolution is saturated with hatred towards Azerbaijan.
“The adopted resolution, without any moral, legal and political grounds, demonstrates a willingness to harm relations between France and Azerbaijan and harm relations between the EU and Azerbaijan. We call on France to stop trying to portray Armenia as a victim and not an aggressor,” Gafarova said.
Over the past two years, the French Parliament has repeatedly shown an unfair position towards Azerbaijan. The document adopted by the French Senate is a malicious and dirty political action against Azerbaijan, which generates hatred for the Azerbaijani people and state. This resolution justifies the territorial claims of Armenia and its aggressive policy towards Azerbaijan, she continued.
During the debate, the head of the pro-government Fatherland party, Fazail Agamali, proposed revising relations with France and recalling the Azerbaijani ambassador from Paris. The head of the Vahdat party, deputy Tahir Karimli, proposed declaring France a hostile state.
MP Javid Osmanov drew attention to the fact that the Senate's call to the government to impose an embrago on Azerbaijan's oil and gas exports is contrary to the interests of the French people and the European Union. ---16B---
