The Ministry of Justice also refused the "Musavat" party
Baku/19.07.23/Turan: The Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan refused the appeal of the Musavat party for re-registration, the head of the party Arif Hajily wrote this on Facebook. "In the letter sent to the party, it is noted that from the information provided to the Ministry of Justice about 5212 members of our party, the information regarding 2766 turned out to be "unreliable" and therefore we must clarify.
It is also alleged that 250 people answered phone calls from the Ministry of Justice that they were not party members. In relation to 11 persons, the information was allegedly re-indicated," Hajily replied. To eliminate the shortcomings of the party, 30 days are allotted.
Hajili said that the party will sort out what shortcomings were identified by the Ministry of Justice. In addition, in the legal plane, the question will be resolved: is it right to consider the lack of phones from party members as a disadvantage or the unwillingness of party members not to provide their phone numbers from the point of view of personal data protection.
The party is also considering the possibility of providing the Ministry of Justice with data on several thousand more party members in order to meet the 5 thousand qualification. Earlier, the Ministry of Justice returned the documents of the Republican Alternative party for similar reasons.
On July 18, the agency stated that after a new law came into force obliging membership in parties of at least 5 thousand people, 31 parties declared self-liquidation. The other 28 parties submitted documents for re-registration. ----03B06---
