The National Council is preparing to nominate R.Ibrahimbayov for presidency (UPDATED)
It is expected that the second session of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) will nominate Rustam Ibrahimbayov, the head of this social structure, as a single candidate for the presidency. This is evidenced by a quiz of Turan with representatives of leading political forces in NCDF.
"I think that the question of a single candidate will be solved on July 2. There is no alternative. Time goes by, it is unreasonable to delay, and I think that common sense will prevail," said Zafar Guliyev, the deputy chairman of the EL Movement.
According to him, the EL Movement is going to support the candidacy of Rustam Ibrahimbayov; final decision will be adopted on July 1.
The PPFA also intends to support Ibrahimbayov. "Our position is clear - we support Rustam Ibrahimbayov as a single candidate from the National Council," said Hasan Karimov, the head of the Supreme Majlis of PPFA.
Chairman of the "Open Society", Sulhaddin Akbar, said that his party had previously expressed support for the candidacy of Rustam Ibrahimbayov.
"The Liberal Party will support its candidate, Rustam Ibrahimbayov. We stated about it on June 6," said the head of the Liberal Party, Avaz Temirkhanov.
The leader of the "Musavat” party, Isa Gambar, declined to comment saying that the session will be open and journalists will be able to watch what takes place.
The member of the coordinating council of the "Public Chamber", Panah Huseyn said that only Rustam Ibrahimbayov was mentioned among the pretenders as a single candidates.—06B--
