Baku/25.09.23/Turan: In its statement of September 25, the Russian Foreign Ministry sharply condemned the speech of the Armenian Prime Minister on September 24, in which he accused Russia and the peacekeepers in Karabakh of not fulfilling their obligations to ensure the security of Armenia and the Armenians of Karabakh. The Russian Foreign Ministry called these accusations "unacceptable attacks" against Russia and "an attempt to shift responsibility for their own failures to Moscow."

The Foreign Ministry also accused the Armenian government of seeking to the West and breaking ties with Russia. Pashinyan is guilty of the grave results of the war of 2023, violation of the "gentlemen's agreements" of the leaders of the Russian Federation, Armenia and Azerbaijan from November 2020 "leave the solution of the issue of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh for future generations."

The Russian Foreign Ministry further accused Pashinyan of recognizing Azerbaijan's sovereignty over Nagorno-Karabakh.

"This fundamentally changed the conditions under which the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020 was signed, as well as the situation of the Russian peacekeeping contingent," the statement said.

Pashinyan's refusal to send a CSTO mission to the border with Azerbaijan did not allow strengthening Armenia's security.

"The situation was also heated by the persistent denial by official Yerevan of the continued presence of Armenian armed formations in Karabakh after November 9, 2020, which became one of the key reasons for the last September escalation."

Due to the inconsistent position of the Armenian leadership, it was not possible to agree on a peace treaty, agree on the delimitation of the border and unblock regional communications.

Moscow also accuses Yerevan of not wanting to solve the problems of the Armenians of Karabakh and establishing a dialogue with Baku. The statement also rejects accusations that the protests in Yerevan were inspired by Moscow.

"We are convinced that the Yerevan leadership is making a huge mistake, deliberately trying to bring down Armenia's multifaceted and centuries-old ties with Russia and making the country hostage to the geopolitical games of the West," the statement stressed. ---0---
