On April 8 the staff of the Ombudsman visited Taleh
Bagirzade and his driver, Anar Melikov, in the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Interior Ministry.
According to the press release of the Ombudsman, the arrested did not complain about the conditions in custody. No signs of violence were revealed during the examination of the bodies of these individuals. At the same time, they said they did not plead guilty to the charges.
The Ombudswoman asked the Attorney General with a request to check the complaints.
Bagirzade and Melikov were arrested on March 31, and are charged accordingly of illegal possessing drugs and weapons.
Earlier, the lawyers stated that Bagirzade was tortured in the Sabunchu district police office. However, the report of the Ombudswoman says nothing about it.—06D—
