There is the first gold of the Olympic games!
Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov clinched the first gold medal for his team at the Olympic Games in Paris. In the final of the 73 kg weight category, Heydarov triumphed over France's John Benjamin Gaba, securing a decisive victory to become the Olympic champion.
Azerbaijani Adil Osmanov, representing Moldova, won a bronze medal in the same weight category.
Following the victory, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva extended their congratulations to Heydarov, praising his performance and wishing him continued success in his athletic career.
