They confused my daughter's blood group and killed her
Baku / 04.27.19 / Turan: A three-month-old girl died in the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital after eight days of treatment. Her father, Orhan Askerzade, told Radio Azadlig that his daughter had died as a result of the disorder of the doctors. Due to the health problems of the three-month Medina Askerzade, she was under the electro-sound examination. There were no problems with the internal organs. Despite this, the child was taken on March 28 to the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital.
"First came Sevda Aliyeva, the head of the reception department. Then came the doctor of the same department Sadagat Abilova. After examining the child, she said that the spleen was enlarged, she did not pay attention to the ultrasound results. " Medina was again examined by ultrasound and again nothning was found. However, the parents decided to leave her in intensive care. According to the father, Medina was diagnosed with a rubella virus that causes rubella.
On the same day, doctors Aliyeva and Abilova said that the child needed group I +n group blood.
"We donated blood, but they sold us blood for 50 manat, a part of the blood was transfused by Medina, after which her condition began to deteriorate," the child"s father said. Askerzade stated that they bought blood for money three times. The child was six times transfused blood. Every time when she received a blood transfusion, she lost consciousness. When asked the reason, they answered that it happens this way with blood transfusions. After eight days, the parents decided to discharge the girl from the hospital and take her to Iran. When preparing the documents, it turned out that the Medina"s blood group was II +.
"This was confirmed in the hospital where Medina was born. And in the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital, she received blood from group I +, her father said.
According to him, when they drove up to the Tabriz hospital, the child fell into a coma. Doctors said that the kidneys are out of order. The reason for the blood transfusion is not its group. After 11 days of coma, the child died.
"In the hospital, we were not even given a medical history, but we will not leave it that way, we will apply to law enforcement agencies and the courts," said Alizade.
It was not possible to get any information from the Ministry of Health about this.
Doctor Adil Geybulla told Radio Azadlig that before each blood transfusion, not only the blood type is checked, but also its biological compatibility. Surgeon-urologist Vasif Ismail says that everyone should receive his blood type. "Unfortunately, the definition of blood is completely connected with a person, therefore errors sometimes occur," he said. According to him, before the transfusion, it is obligatory to pre-compulsorily mix some patient's blood with the transfused blood in order to check their compatibility. And yet, such cases also occur. According to lawyer Samira Agayeva, it is very rare when doctors are held accountable for negligence. If a patient dies as a result of a medical error, an investigation must be conducted and a lawsuit should be filed under the Articles 314 (negligence) and 143 (remaining in danger) .- 0-
