Three Azerbaijani women repatriated from Iraq
Baku/01.06.23/Turan: Three Azerbaijani citizens who were imprisoned in the Republic of Iraq and served their sentences were taken to Baku, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said today.
At the next stage, it is planned to return to the country 2 more citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have served their sentences, the press release further says.
“Currently, relevant work is underway towards the gradual return of Azerbaijani citizens held in Iraq to our country. In this regard, relevant appeals were sent to the relevant state institutions of the Republic of Iraq,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The report emphasizes that so far 288 children of Azerbaijani women held in places of detention in Iraq have been returned from Iran. -06B-
