Tofig Yagublu Needs Urgent Medical Aid
Baku / 11.04.20 / Turan: The state of health of the member of the National Council of Democratic Forces and the Musavat party Tofig Yagublu contained in the Shuvelan pre-trial detention center-3 has worsened. This was reported by his daughter Nigar Hazi.
“Today I talked with my father. Despite the fact that he maintains good spirits, his asthmatic disease has worsened, and his cough intensified. The reason for this is the smoking of his cellmates. My father’s hand pains have also intensified - the consequences of torture during his arrest last fall,” said Hazi.
Relatives cannot visit Yagublu due to the quarantine regime.
“We can’t even transfer medicines to him. Father urgently needs medical attention,” said Hazi.
Tofig Yagublu was arrested on trumped-up charges of hooliganism on March 22.
Representatives of many international organizations condemned his arrest and called for the immediate release of the politician. — 21C06-
