Toivo Klaar`s mandate has been extended until August 31, 2024
Baku/21.07.23/Turan: The Council of the European Union has extended the mandate of the Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia until August 31, 2024, the EU delegation to Azerbaijan said. Currently, this mission is being carried out by Estonian diplomat Toivo Klaar. He was appointed Special Representative on November 13, 2017.
Its task is to promote the peaceful settlement of conflicts in the region, namely the crisis in Georgia and the "Nagorno-Karabakh conflict", as well as to promote regional cooperation between Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and, if necessary, with neighboring countries. ---06B---
