Trial of another group of Armenians accused of terrorism begins
Baku/16.06.21/Turan: Trial in the case of 14 Armenian soldiers accused of war crimes in Azerbaijan began in Baku Serious Crimes Court.
During the preparatory meeting chaired by Afgan Hajiyev, the following appeared in the dock: Serobyan Gegham, Avakyan Hrach, Armen Bagasyan, Gasparyan Gora, Sefilyan Kamo, Akobyan Volodya, Asertyan Gevorg, Yengoyan Sisak, Petrosyan Albert, Sedrakian Romik, Minosyan Edgar, and Yura Karapetyan.
These persons were captured during the anti-terrorist operation of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan on December 13, 2020.
According to the materials of the investigation, a group of Armenian citizens created an armed formation, which on November 26-27, 2020, illegally crossed the state border of Azerbaijan and took up combat positions near the village of Hadrut.
Until December 13, they made several attacks on enterprises, organizations and individuals, staged explosions and arson.
Charges were brought against the defendants under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan: 214.2.1, 214.2.3 (terrorism committed by a group of persons), 228.3 (illegal acquisition of weapons), 279.2 (attack by an illegal armed group on enterprises or individuals) and 318.2 (illegal crossing state border of Azerbaijan). -02D-
