Turan agency reports Hafiz Babali released ( updated )
Baku/03.10.13/Turan : The correspondent for Turan Hafiz Babali was released from Absheron district police office .
He said that in the district department a police officer questioned why the journalist was brought there. In response, the police that detained him said that he shot footage.
Then the officer asked where the other members of the incident were. In response, the police said that the journalist "prevented" to detain them .
After a short conversation, the journalist was released.

Turan agency reports Hafiz Babali was arrested while covering a spontaneous protest of the citizens against the police overlapping traffic inside the village Masazir in connection with the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Sumgayit .
Due to the overlap of the main road cars from Sumgait followed a slip road. But inside the village Masazir police also blocked the road . This caused resentment of the people for more than two hours.
They began to demand the opening of the road and there was an incident between the citizens and the police.
The journalist , following professional duty , began to take what was happening.
However, the police confiscated his camera, press card and glasses (Babali has very poor eyesight) and put him in a car of the guard and patrol service with state signs " 10 EM 475 ." This was reported by the journalist.
Now he is being taken to the Absheron district police. The police threatened the journalist writing the report.
Note that obstructing the professional activities of a journalist is punishable under the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. -06d-
