Baku/09.11.21/Turan: A draft law on extending the mandate of the Turkish military in Azerbaijan was submitted to the Turkish Parliament on Tuesday. The document signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be discussed at the plenary session of the Parliament on Tuesday, November 9, Anadolu Agency reported.

The mandate to send the Turkish military to Azerbaijan had first been approved by the Turkish Parliament on November 17, 2020.

The Parliament authorized the government to send the military to Azerbaijan for one year to fulfill obligations arising from the provisions of the Strategic Partnership and Mutual Assistance Agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan to establish a ceasefire, prevent violations, ensure peace and stability in the region and fulfill the mission of the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Center in Agdam.

If approved by the Parliament, the Turkish military mission in Azerbaijan will be extended for one year, starting November 17, 2021. -16D-
